On what started as a typical morning commute, David Fredman witnessed something that stopped him in his tracks — and prompted a life-saving act of bravery.

While driving to work in Independence, Missouri, Fredman noticed a dog suspended by an electrical cord near the I-70 overpass. "He was hanging off the edge of some kind of electrical box," Fredman told Fox4 KC. "The cord was around his neck. His feet barely touched the ground, and he was struggling to move his head." It was clear the dog was in serious trouble.
