But the rescue didn't end there. Knowing that permanent homes are rare for stray dogs in India, Animal Aid decided to improve the spot the mother dog had chosen as home. Volunteers returned to clean the pit, laid down flooring, and added mats to give her and her pups a safe, cleaner place to live.

With her paw healing and her den transformed, the mama dog was brought back to familiar surroundings—this time with fresh bedding, sacks of food, and ongoing support.
