Bruno was just an 11-month-old puppy when he suffered a severe attack by military dogs, leaving him near death at the base of a dam. His body bore the evidence of this trauma, with not a single spot unscathed. The person who found Bruno decided to rush him home, hoping desperately to keep him alive.

Despite the pain he endured, Bruno's eyes revealed a strong will to live. In a bid to prevent infections, the person cleaned and trimmed his fur, though his condition was critical with complex injuries.

Bruno experienced dizzy spells and hallucinations while eating and needed a continuous supply of fluids and treatment for several days. Tests were conducted daily to monitor his recovery, and if his condition improved, plans were in place for sterilization.
