A helpless 20-day-old puppy was found abandoned on a mountainside near Chanis, Panama.

Weak and covered in sores, lice, fleas, and flies, she barely moved, struggling to breathe with her eyes shut tight. Her condition was critical.

Rescuers rushed her to Veterinary Paws & Footprints of Chains, where she was monitored every two hours. Weighing only 0.66 kg (1.45 lbs), she needed multiple injectable medications to stabilize her fragile body.
