At one point, over 1,000 dogs lived at the shelter. Thanks to Yan's tireless efforts and the support of caring adopters, only about 200 remain today. While financial hardship looms, Yan refuses to walk away from the animals who depend on him.

His journey is a powerful reminder of the difference one person can make. Through loss, Yan found purpose—and in doing so, gave thousands of dogs a second chance at life.
