"He just fit right in and started playing with everyone," shared Royale Marfil, the officer who launched the initiative. Many of the staff members were intrigued, asking, "Can we keep him?"

Bolo's ability to make himself at home was clear when he curled up and snoozed peacefully in Marfil's office—a heartwarming moment for her.

When the time came for Bolo to head back to the shelter, he showed a clear reluctance, and it was evident he had formed attachments.

With this in mind, Marfil asked if Bolo could remain with the department, a proposal that was met with enthusiastic agreement. Bolo officially became part of the team.
